The Almost: by the numbers

According to wikipedia:

"As of July 11, 2007, the album has sold 123,972 copies in the US.[2]"

(referring to The Almost's Say This Sooner.)

This kind of impressed me, considering this is ahead of CDs like Never Take Friendship Personal after that amount of time. Also, I may be mistaken, but I believe it took from June '04 to February '05 for They're Only Chasing Safety to sell 100,000.

The only reason The Almost was given the light of day is because of Underoath's sales over the past 3 years, TOCS has sold just as many copies as DTGL, just not as quickly.

Yea I definitely think that if Aaron G. hadn't had all the exposure because of Underoath the cd wouldn't have gotten so popular so quick. But I guess that's just how stuff works.

Don't forget, also, that this cd has been talked about for about two to three years.

Hype is a big thing in the scene.

You also have to take into account that their is a single from this album spinning at many rock/alternative stations nationwide and as you probably know, radio is still very popular.
