wow for a second there i thought tooth and nail actually was willing to take a step in this direction. guess there wasnt enough money in it for them...
On IVM, Ben Crist (lead singer/guitarist of TGU) claimed that there might be a joint deal with BEC/T&N.
Way to fail, Tooth and Nail.
Clearly you guys don't love the music anymore, and are in it purely for the money.
reality check.... Tooth and Nail, Solid State, and Uprok records are all the same company... So in the end T&N is still signing them, just under a different sub label. and this is simply because BEC has way better distrobution to christian bookstores than T&N. also, they fit with the BEC lineup, way better... hmmm Anberlin, Underoath, Norma Jean, The Chariot.... uh Glorious Unseen?!?!? obviously those bands are a mixture of T&N and Solid State, but tour together all the time.... The Gloriuos Unseen would have a better response and tour lineup with bands like Kutless and Bebo Norman, and Jeremy Camp. so for all of you who think its about money arent looking at the big picture. its the same company... and when was the last time David Crowder went on tour with As I Lay Dying? uh never... and if so i missed that one. just like those two dont fit, The GLorious Unseen wouldnt fit as well with T&N. so open your eyes all the way before you jump to cnclusions.
the main issue for me is this...
the glorious unseen was announced on tooth and nail for the first time. check past posts at buzzgrinder, ivm, absolutepunk, and this site and you'll see that although many people agree that they fit on bec better, it was nice to see t&n stepping outside of the box and signing something deep and worship-centered.
people appreciated that. i know i did.
and now its as if tooth and nail went back on their word and said "nevermind, we think they'll do better on bec so forget it."
ya i agree. i almost had a load of respect going towards them for signing a worship band. God forbid them get noticed for that...
And people not associated with "the scene" (like us) don't know BEC is associated with Tooth and Nail.
Plus, there is only like five bands on BEC, and none of them are good.
It's like moving a show from NBC to TBS, you are setting it up for the fail.
