In a series of flat out low points for music as we know it, some hormonal teenagers have come up with some concept based on having sex in honor of acoustic Sullivan songs.
Ever thought of self control? Personal integrity? Self respect?
Or is that too much work for you?
How about Tell Me I'm WrooOOOOOOOOoooong acoustic.
That'd be perdy damn hawt.
And if it sounds as beautiful as I think it will,
I'll bang the next decent looking girl I come across, and make her write
"You're Wrong Brooks" across her chest, after I've done the deed.
Sullivan makes tons of songs about romance and following your heart, heart-break, and dedication. But for Brooks to partake in this is nothing less than hypocritical. Calling out ladies to forsake their purity for a few extra myspace hits is ridiculous.
Ever thought of promoting purity? Chivalry? Romance? Well they did in theory, through their songs. But I guess the truth comes out eventually.
Yes I did see the disclaimer "this shouldn't be taken seriously". Ok so let me get this straight. You want pictures of people as described in the above statment, with lyrics on their bodies, but at the same time, we shouldn't do it cause you're not serious? Which one is it?
I'm not overreacting. Yes I expect a backlash of comments from B4B followers. Yes, I expect B4B to tell ME that I'M wrong. God forbid someone make a statement in this world promoting something positive.

Hahaha dumb; that's all I have to say about that.
In other news, I got word from Sound vs. Silence that Twelve Gauge Valentine is breaking up (SVS is their old label). I don't know if anyone here is into them but I loved Shock Value and I'm pretty bummed about them breaking up. SVS also told me that they will be doing a farewell tour in January.
Yea, that really bothers me. I read all of it, and then saw the disclaimer myself. But is that supposed to make me want to support it? That's, honestly, not the sort of thing I find funny. Oh, banging girls, haha! Not, it's disrespectful. And for me to like Sullivan as much as I do, I was very disappointed. I would really love a site devoted to acoustic songs, but...wait, why can't it be devoted to just that? Why do I have to have "banging" to sell it to me? Oh, well, I guess that would just be silly. Righttttt.
and...OHMYGOSH! WHAT! TWELVE GAUGE CAN'T BREAK UP! that is all kinds of lame.
p.s. I thought they were writing a new cd...?
I have something big coming up. Sara, you might appreciate it.
Actually, it's a joke.
While I'm totally against the shameless promotion of teen sex in order to make money (I'm looking at you, Superbad!! Justkidding I love you Apatow!) and I think the idea is stupid, we should lighten up a bit.
I highly doubt the band would endorse it so heavily if the kids were actually going to go through with it.
And plus, homeboy's gotta have a lot of juice to write out all that on the girls chest.
Just saying.

doesn't look like shes joking to me
Well yea, I'm not saying they aren't joking. Nor am I trying to make a huge deal about it. Please don't get me wrong on that. I'm just saying...joke or not, that's a really negative thing to portray. Why can't it JUST be about the songs? It's a pretty silly situation.
^^^^^to the Twelve Gauge comment above
That's what I thought too... I guess I will wait to hear an official announcement from the band before I get too disappointed...
That's not right, Kev.
The bet was they would write "You're wrong, Brooks." after doing the deed.
Is it from the myspace?
im not implying she just had sex.
but thats its not "just for fun" or "joking".
i dont know maybe im weird but something strikes me as wrong about this.
True.
I dunno, I feel bad judging people for their actions, especially people I don't know.
Also, I would feel uncomfortable posting an embargo on Sullivan, since they really don't have control over what their fans do and since this probably just started as a joke.
But with this, they do have a control over what their fans are doing. Brooks is personally providing the music. I don't know, even though it's all a big joke I'm sure, it just sort of rubs me the wrong way.
i think it's silly. I've talked with Brooks during the Tooth And Nail tour, and this really doesn't surprise me. He's a great dude, but this is just his kind of humor. Another example of "not every band on T&N is Christian" arguments going around this blog.
and TGV is breaking up? i just started listening to them and last i heard they were writing their sophmore record? dang.
I'm sorry but I read their myspace and I was disgusted! Christian or not it's still in bad taste. It shows lack of respect towards not only grown women but towards young girls as well. Some people may say it's a joke but I say it's a sign of things to come.
We have a case open on the guy. He may end up on Dateline NBC very soon.
